Sustainable fish farming
Essential Question
How might we improve water quality and sustainability in fish farming through innovative filtration systems?
Project Description

Fish alive addresses the challenge of poor water quality in fish farming, which affects fish health and productivity. We designed an affordable smart filtration system that uses a water pump to circulate pond water through volcanic rocks placed in a bucket above the pond. These rocks, with natural holes, effectively trap solid waste, keeping the water cleaner and healthier for the fish. This innovative, low-cost solution promotes sustainable water management, improves fish survival rates, and supports more efficient aquaculture practices. Through this system, we aim to enhance food security and environmental sustainability in our community.
