Our project, EcoCycle, addresses the global challenge of waste management and recycling inefficiency. Many people struggle to properly sort waste, leading to environmental pollution. To tackle this, we developed an AI-powered app connected to a smart trash can. Using a smartphone camera, the app identifies recyclable and non-recyclable waste, sorting it automatically via servo motors. Users track their recycling habits, compete through a point system, and managers receive alerts when bins are full. By combining AI, automation, and gamification, EcoCycle makes recycling easier, raises awareness, and encourages responsible waste disposal, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
