At our school, fewer than 3% of girls will ever learn even basic coding skills, let alone the more advanced skills that would enable them to go beyond developing a basic prototype of an app using App Inventor or any other IDE. To address this, we held an entire Day of Code for girls who had never coded before. We believe that girls have so much to offer in terms of their ideas, and our school and community would benefit from having more girls capable of developing helpful apps.
