Oceans are critical for human life. They give us food, produce half of the oxygen on the planet, serve as transportation superhighways, and, of course, oceans are fun! Sadly, we are treating this precious resource badly, with plastic and oil pollution, ocean acidification, and overfishing.
To solve this problem, the FIRST LEGO League team Band of Steel created the Total Ocean Awareness Program. This 10-part program covers all forms of media and demographics, including a presentation, YouTube video, website, and even an original children's book! To date the program reached over 7,000 adults and children in several countries.
