- Big Idea
- Growing Food Sustainably
- Essential Question
- How can we grow food underwater in a sustainable way
- Project Description
-
For our project we research how farming has contributed to deforestation and climate change. We explored ways to grow food near our shallow coastlines sustainably. We designed a prototype of a system of growing food underwater and also producing kelp and seaweed providing much needed protein for the world. We envision a system that would have minimal impact on the oceans ecosystems while providing benefits to our world. Our system could also provide a research lab for Marine Biologist to learn more about our oceans. Since it would be place in shallow waters the system would be solar powered.
