Innovate, Repair, Recycle-Reuse
Essential Question
How can repairing, recycling, upcycling and reusing waste promote innovation and sustainability in our community?
Project Description

The Sparkwise Tech Initiative tackles challenges of electric power failure, waste accumulation, and unclean energy use in Odeda, Ogun State, Nigeria. Faced with these issues, students designed solutions by upcycling plastic and electronic waste to innovate torches, lanterns, fans, and blenders while repairing damaged appliances.

These practical creations now benefit both students and community members, providing reliable alternatives and reducing environmental impact.

By promoting repair, reuse, and recycling, the project aligns with SDG-12 and foster a circular economy, addresses waste management, enhances access to functional-household devices, and supports sustainable energy practices, fostering a cleaner and more resilient community.
